To be shunned or marginalised for the lack of good looks is an unbearable feeling ( "Cosmetic Surgery: Cure or Curse?" March 2008).I've experienced it before.The attitude of some people towards me changed for the better
after i did something about it. Therefore, I can imagine why people would consider cosmetic surgery to improve their appearance.Perharps that is also why the rich, who can afford such choices,become richer and enjoy an even better life while the poor are left to their fate.

BEAUTY IS THE EYE of the beholder; who's to say what's beautiful and what's not. Our notion of beauty is defined by what we see in the media, which is hardly representative of the majority. I tend to think that cosmetic surgery and the pursuit of stereotypical beauty is against nature, and anything unnatural always has its consequences.

Reflection:
After reading this paragraph on how we can improve our appearance, i do not agree with it as we all have different features since we are born so i guess everyone living on Earth have different capability hence we should accept whatever we have.I understand that people now are more realistic nowaday example like people who are more pretty or handsome tend to have more friends around them just like the comment make "attitude of some people towards me".I think that people going for cosmetic surgery is putting their life in danger as problems like falling down after surgery might flatten their nose that affect their respiratory system.They should consider the problems faced and think twice.Though technology is advance but there is alway room for accident or perhaps you might not be able to adapt that cause your face to swell.Surgery is so expensive and it is not 100% guarantee so I think that surgery is a waste of money and why dont the rich donate them for charity.There are a lot of places needed aid so donation might be a better choice."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" means that different people have different taste and judgement so we cannot compare who is more beautiful or charming so it does not mean that if a person say you ugly mean you are ugly.In addition, beauty cannot be measure.I think that beautiful might not be a good thing as it would attract troubles for yourself like harassment.Whatever we see might be just a act.To know if a person is beautiful,we need to feel it for ourselves.
